WhatsApp will let you attach notes to saved contacts
WhatsApp is set to roll out a new update via the Google Play Beta Program, pushing the app version to 2.24.9.12. This forthcoming update will introduce a feature that allows users to add notes to contacts, enhancing contact management and organization within the app. Although not yet available for testing, a preview of this feature has been shared with users by WABetaInfo.
The new feature will enhance business communication
The Notes feature will allow users to add notes about clients directly inside the chat info screen, streamlining the process of keeping track of important information. It could also function as a handy reminder tool, allowing businesses to include reminders about their customers. Note that these notes will always be private, so other contacts won't be able to see/access them. Initially, this feature will be exclusive to business accounts and won't be accessible to regular WhatsApp ones.
Document preview also under development
In addition to the note-adding feature, WhatsApp is reportedly developing a facility that would allow users to preview documents. This means that when a document is shared, users will be able to see a small image of it before opening it. This feature aims to simplify the process of finding the right document in a chat without having to open it first, especially beneficial when sharing photos or videos.
WhatsApp to suggest contacts for user engagement
WhatsApp is also working on a feature that proposes contacts for users to engage with, specifically those they haven't interacted with in a while. Initially reported as an Android-only feature, recent reports suggest that iOS users will also benefit from this new addition. This feature aims to enhance user interaction by reminding them of contacts they may have lost touch with.
