New features are coming to WhatsApp Web
After releasing a slew of updates for its mobile application, WhatsApp is reportedly working on new updates for its WhatsApp Web service. First reported by WABetaInfo, the update contains bug fixes (especially for the last seen feature), several improvements, and changes to the GIF and Sticker buttons. The new features aren't available yet, but are expected soon. Here's what we know about them.
Upcoming changes to WhatsApp Web's GIF Sharing Tool
GIF sharing abilities between contacts on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone have been around in WhatsApp for a while now, and the GIF Sharing Tool allows the same functionality on WhatsApp Web. While GIFs have to be accessed via the Emoji button currently, WhatsApp will reportedly separate the two soon on WhatsApp Web. Additionally, it will add some quick GIFs categories for faster sharing.
Stickers are also coming to WhatsApp Web
GIFs apart, WhatsApp is also reportedly developing a Stickers button in addition to its Emoji button. Notably, the Stickers button will allow users to access the upcoming WhatsApp Stickers Store, thereby confirming that the feature will make its way into WhatsApp Web too. As of now, it's unclear as to when these updates will be pushed, but we'll keep you updated.
