WhatsApp to stop working for these Apple Mac users soon
WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, is set to discontinue its old Electron-based app for macOS users. The company has begun notifying users who are still using this version of the app on their Mac devices. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the old WhatsApp app will cease functioning in approximately 54 days. Users have been advised to either download the new version of the app or use WhatsApp Web.
New version of WhatsApp for macOS
The new version of the WhatsApp app for macOS is built using Catalyst technology. It utilizes the iPhone app as its foundation and operates natively on the system. This is a significant upgrade from the old Electron app, which was essentially a web app running on the computer with its own limitations and slower usage speed.
Enhanced sticker features with GIPHY integration
In addition to the app transition, WhatsApp is also enhancing its sticker features. The company has integrated GIPHY for sticker search, allowing users to reorganize their sticker tray. This new integration enables users to search for stickers within the app and access a diverse range from the GIPHY library. It's particularly beneficial for those seeking stickers that may not be included in their personal collection.
