WhatsApp will soon bring event scheduling feature for individual chats
What's the story
WhatsApp is all set to improve its user experience by adding an event scheduling feature for one-on-one chats.
The new capability, which was previously available for group and community chats only, will now enable users to schedule meetings and set reminders right within private conversations.
For instance, two colleagues talking about an approaching deadline can set up an event with the due date, so both receive timely reminders.
Feature discovery
New feature spotted in beta version
The new event scheduling feature was first spotted by some beta testers after updating to the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.25.3.6 through the Google Play Store.
A screenshot shared by WABetaInfo reveals that this feature shows up adjacent to the Poll option when users tap on the "+" icon in a private chat window.
This addition will make it easier for users to plan events and set reminders without having to scroll through past messages.
User interaction
Event scheduling enhances communication clarity
The new feature also enhances communication by providing the recipient of an event invitation with the option to accept or decline it.
All event details are stored within the chat, letting users easily refer back to them whenever required.
As of now, this feature is only available to a handful of beta testers but is expected to be rolled out more widely in the coming weeks.
