Now, all iOS users can become WhatsApp beta testers
There's good news for iOS users. WhatsApp has finally had made its beta available to all iOS users, thereby allowing any iOS user to become a beta tester for testing new features on WhatsApp for iOS. Earlier, while WhatsApp betas for Android and Windows were available to all users, only a limited number of iOS users could become WhatsApp beta testers. Here's more.
How to get WhatsApp beta on iOS
To use WhatsApp beta on iOS, users first have to download TestFlight from the App Store. Once you download TestFlight, click on the link provided to become a beta tester. Then, you have to agree to the terms and conditions, and when you click install, you will be asked whether you want replace your current WhatsApp version with the test version. Agree to continue.
Do back up your WhatsApp chats before installation
Just prior to installing the WhatsApp beta for iOS, you'll be warned that you might lose your app data. While it's highly unlikely that you will lose your data during the installation process, it's best to back up your WhatsApp chat history as a precaution.
What you can do as a WhatsApp beta tester
Currently, WhatsApp is offering beta version 2.18.102 to iOS users. Using the beta, iOS users can get access to new features of the app that have not been publicly rolled out. Beta testers can test these features and report any bugs and issues by heading to 'Contact Us' in the Settings menu. A description of the bug, and screenshots have to be provided.
