WhatsApp will soon let you customize chat themes
WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, is preparing to introduce a new feature that will allow users to customize their chat themes. This information was revealed by WABetaInfo, which discovered evidence of this upcoming update in the works. The feature is designed to enable users to select their preferred colors for chat bubbles and wallpapers from predefined themes.
Feature was activated in beta update
The new chat theme feature was successfully activated in the WhatsApp v2.24.20.12 beta version for Android, providing a glimpse into its functionality. Users will have several presets to choose from, with a wider range of preset wallpapers available for selection. The chat bubble color will be adjusted to complement the chosen wallpaper in these presets, offering a cohesive visual experience within chats on the platform.
Adjustable darkness levels
In addition to color coordination, the new feature will also provide users with the ability to adjust the darkness level of their chosen theme. This means they can gradually transition between a light and dark theme based on their preference. Once a theme is selected, it will become the default for all chats but can be manually overridden in specific conversations if desired.
Chat themes are user-specific
It's important to note that the chosen theme will only be visible to the user who set it. Other participants in a chat will see the theme they have set on their own devices, ensuring a personalized experience for each individual. As of now, the default theme presets are not operational but progress is being made toward their implementation.
