WhatsApp for iOS gets iPhone Xs Max support
WhatsApp has updated its iOS app (version 2.18.100) to bring a host of new features and support for the recently launched Apple iPhone Xs Max. The new update, with a file size of about 92MB, introduces features such as Consecutive Voice Messages and a new layout for message shortcuts. Here's more about this update.
WhatsApp now supports the biggest iPhone yet
So far, iPhone Xs Max users had to use WhatsApp with a scaled down user interface. However, with the latest iOS update, the Facebook-owned messaging app has added support for the large 6.5-inch display of the iPhone Xs Max. Hence, WhatsApp will now take advantage of the bigger display, allowing users to experience a full-screen view of the chat window.
The update introduces new Consecutive Voice Messages and messages shortcuts
The update also brings a new Consecutive Voice Messages feature that will automatically play voice messages in sequence. This means you won't have to press play on each voice message now. Moreover, when you long press a message to reveal options such as reply, forward, copy, star and delete, a new design layout will make these actions feel faster than before.
WhatsApp is also testing a new "Vacation Mode"
Reportedly, WhatsApp is also testing a new "Vacation Mode". Under this mode, an archived chat will remain muted even when a new message arrives in the chat. Currently, when you receive a new message in an archived chat, WhatsApp automatically un-archives it.
