WhatsApp unveils channel update forwarding facility in latest iOS update
WhatsApp has released a new stable update for its iOS users, version 24.8.85, now available on the App Store. This update introduces a feature called channel update forwarding, which was not stated in the official changelog on the App Store. Despite this omission, it's confirmed that this feature is now widely accessible to all users. The concept of channel update forwarding was first introduced with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.9.24 firmware.
Boosting engagement simplified
The primary function of the channel update forwarding facility is to enable users to quickly forward channel updates. This aims to increase engagement by simplifying the sharing of these updates in chats and groups. The introduction of a new forwarding button makes sharing channel updates easier, by eliminating the need to navigate through the context menu.
Streamlined sharing with new forwarding button
The new forwarding button, conveniently placed next to the reaction view, allows users to forward updates with a single tap. This promotes more regular sharing of channel content. For those who haven't yet received this feature, it's important to keep their WhatsApp application updated, via regular updates from the App Store and TestFlight app. This will ensure they receive this and other new features as they are progressively released in future updates.
