You can soon view YouTube/Instagram videos in WhatsApp itself
WhatsApp is set to bring its picture-in-picture (PiP) mode to Android with YouTube and Instagram integration. It will allow users to view Instagram and YouTube videos in a mini window in the WhatsApp app itself. To recall, WhatsApp's PiP mode with YouTube integration is already available on iOS devices, and was rolled out earlier this year. Here's more.

What we know about the PiP feature
Reportedly, WhatsApp has been working on the feature for the past few months. When made available, the feature will offer users a white 'Play' button for YouTube and Instagram video links sent on WhatsApp. When they click the link, they'll be able to view said video as a pop-up within WhatsApp. However, WhatsApp PiP won't be available for Instagram Story links.
The feature isn't even available for beta testers now
According to WABetaInfo, the new PiP feature is there in WhatsApp beta version 2.18.234. However, the feature is still under development and isn't available, as of now, to even beta testers. Notably, the report states that the feature needs "many more improvements" before it can be made available to users. As such, the release date of the feature isn't known.
