WhatsApp Channels will soon let you share voice messages, stickers
WhatsApp is working on a feature that allows users to share voice messages and stickers within Channels. The feature is not accessible yet and will be made available in an upcoming app update. Moreover, the app is also said to incorporate a message reaction filtering tool for Channels, making it easier for Channel admins to identify contacts who have responded to updates.
Voice messages and stickers in Channels
Currently, only certain types of messages are allowed within Channels, including text messages, images, videos, and GIFs. The inclusion of voice messages and stickers provides a more lively and engaging method of communication as opposed to sharing text alone, which could potentially result in increased interaction with Channel subscribers. This feature can also assist Channel admins in appealing to a wider audience by making their Channels more dynamic and attractive.
Message reaction filter for Channel updates
Additionally, as part of the Android beta update carrying version 2.23.23.3, WhatsApp is rolling out a message reaction filtering tool, enabling Channel admins to see individual reactions from their contacts. This function offers valuable insight into how contacts perceive and respond to the content shared on Channels, aiding admins in assessing which updates most effectively capture their audience's attention.
Exclusive access for Channel admins
The message reaction tool will be exclusive only to Channel admins ensuring that reactions to Channel updates remain private. Even if two users are following the same Channel, they will not be able to see each other's reactions, as only Channel admins possess this privilege. The feature is currently accessible to some beta testers and will be gradually rolled out to more users in the coming days.
