You can now add sticker photos to your WhatsApp status
What's the story
WhatsApp is testing a handy new feature that lets you add sticker photos to your status updates.
The feature comes with the latest update, version 2.25.5.20, which is being rolled out via Google Play Beta Program and works with some older versions of the app as well.
It was recently announced with WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.3.10 update and is now available for some beta testers with the latest update on Google Play Store.
Feature details
Sticker photos: A creative tool for status updates
The sticker photos feature is aimed at improving user experience by letting them add multiple images in a single status update.
It does this with the help of a new content sticker, which lets users overlay sticker-like images on their status.
The feature even applies to videos shared through status updates, giving users the option to add sticker photos over them too.
Personalization
User experience and customization options
The sticker photos feature is similar to the content sticker functionality on Instagram, letting you personalize your updates by adding more images on top of photos or videos.
You can choose from different predefined shapes - two rectangular ones, a square, a circle, a heart, and a star - to customize your sticker photos according to the context of your update.
User control
Flexibility and creative freedom with sticker photos
Along with shape customization, sticker photos are also resizable and movable. This gives users the creative liberty to arrange them as they like in their status update.
They can resize a sticker photo to make it more prominent or shrink it to fit within the overall composition of their status update.
This ensures flexibility in positioning and layering images when sharing multiple moments in a single update.
