For its first full-time hire in India, WhatsApp is looking for a country head, a position that has been vacant since long. The person will be based in Mumbai and will report to WhatsApp's Chief Operating Officer in California. The candidate will need to have at least 15 years of experience in product-driven companies and five years with payment technologies in India. Details here.
What will the position involve?
The prime responsibilities of the India head will include understanding and influencing product direction and specific product decisions, representing WhatsApp's product strategy in the country and drive alignment with partners and stakeholders, and lead partnership efforts in the market, acting as a cross-functional leader across WhatsApp and Facebook teams. They will also have to build relationships with partners and other constituents at senior levels.

A B.S. or M.S in Engineering/Sciences/Business can apply for the job, provided they have a proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, and a proven track record of initiating and successfully driving new business opportunities at a global scale, and excellent communication and presentation skills.
