What's the story

In May, Facebook announced that WhatsApp will soon get support for stickers.

Now, more information on the upcoming feature, which is currently in Android beta version 2.18.189, has been revealed.

Presently, WhatsApp is internally testing four different sticker categories: LOL, Love, Sad, and Wow. The chat app will eventually roll out more sticker packs.

Add Stickers

WhatsApp sticker characters include Dragon Clan, Meep, Fox

According to WABetainfo, the website that reports on everything that's going on in WhatsApp beta builds, stickers will be placed beside the GIF button and categories will be accessible by clicking on a dedicated heart-shaped "Stickers View" option on the top corner.

WhatsApp will also launch a "Stickers Store" to help you keep track of all the sticker packs you have downloaded and deleted.

Upcoming Feature

WhatsApp to get support for third-party developer stickers

Stickers will allow users to interact on WhatsApp in a different way, through something other than emojis and GIFs.

Apart from using WhatsApp's own sticker album, users will also be able to download additional sticker packs created by third-party developers.

Further, users will be able to send two stickers in a single message. Notably, there will be over 20 stickers in a single pack.
