Aero India 2025: US to showcase F-35, B-1 bomber planes
What's the story
The United States is all set to display its cutting-edge aircraft and defense technology at Aero India 2025.
This will be the 15th occasion that the US will participate in Asia's largest airshow, which will take place in Bengaluru from February 10 to 14.
The display will include state-of-the-art aircraft like the F-35 fighter jet, KC-135 Stratotanker, B-1 bomber, and F-16 fighter jet.
Delegation
High-level US delegation to attend event
A high-level US delegation, led by Jorgan Andrews, Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy in New Delhi, will also be present at Aero India 2025.
The team includes representatives from various US departments, including State, Defense, and Commerce.
Senior leaders like General Kevin Schneider, Brigadier General Patrick Teague and Consul General Chris Hodges are also part of this delegation.
Strategic partnership
US-India defense ties in focus
Andrews was excited about the US's participation in Aero India 2025, calling it an opportunity to deepen defense ties with India.
He said that "cooperation in defense, trade, and training is integral to our growing strategic partnership."
More than two dozen American exhibitors will participate in the event to interact with their Indian counterparts to discover new business opportunities and display innovations in aviation and defense.
Technology display
Showcasing advancements in defense technology
The US exhibitors' focus at Aero India will be on advancements in fighter aircraft, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), advanced avionics, as well as defense electronics.
This is part of an ongoing effort to deepen US-India defense ties through technology innovation and expanded trade since Aero India 2023.
The partnership has witnessed increased cooperation in areas like maritime security, cybersecurity, logistics and counter-terrorism operations.
Cultural performance
US Air Force band to perform at Aero India
Aero India 2025 will also see a cultural performance by the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific's ensemble, "Final Approach."
The band will perform on February 13 and 14 at the airshow venue, and on February 11 at Christ University Auditorium in Bengaluru.
This cultural exchange adds another dimension to the event, further strengthening ties between the two nations.
