Vu Premium 4K Android TVs launched in India: Specs, price
Rivaling the likes of Xiaomi, TCL, and Thomson, Vu has launched three new 4K televisions as part of its "Premium TV" series in India. The new models, available in 43-inch, 50-inch, and 55-inch sizes, offer 4K screens and support Dolby Video, Dolby Audio, as well as Google Chromecast. They also support popular OTT apps such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Hotstar.
About the new models: Display and sound
All the three models come with 4K (3840x2160 pixels) LED panels and support HDR 10, Dolby Vision, as well as a VOD (Video On-demand) Upscaler technology that enhances content. Design-wise, they have slim black bezels on three sides and a silvery chin. The table stand is also color-coded with the bottom bezel. Further, the TVs deliver 30W of audio output and support Dolby Audio.
They come with a dedicated Cricket mode
All the three TVs come with a Cricket Mode that promises to offer a stadium-like experience. The company claims that in this picture mode, you get up to 100% ball visibility. Separately, the remote offers dedicated keys for Google Play, Hotstar, Netflix, and other services.
Under the hood
These Vu Premium 4K TVs are powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor, combined with a built-in GPU, 2GB of RAM, and up to 16GB of internal storage. They run Android TV 9 operating system and provide access to Google Play Store, Google Assistant, and Google Chromecast. The TVs also support all the latest connectivity options including Bluetooth and dual-band Wi-Fi.
Pricing and availability
The 43-inch Vu Premium 4K TV costs Rs. 24,999 while the 50-inch and 55-inch models are priced at Rs. 27,999 and Rs. 31,999, respectively. As for availability, they are listed as "coming soon" on Flipkart.
