Lenovo ThinkPad P52: World's most powerful mass-produced laptop, launched
At the NXT BLD conference, Chinese electronics giant Lenovo has unveiled the ThinkPad P52, one of the world's most powerful mass-produced laptops till date. In terms of highlights, the laptop gets 8th-generation Intel Xeon chipset, up to 6TB of storage, and up to 128GB of RAM. As for its price and availability, Lenovo is expected to announce the details later this month. Here's more.
Lenovo ThinkPad P52: At a glance
The Lenovo ThinkPad P52 features a 15.6-inch 4K/UHD 400 nits touchscreen display which is packed in a basic black body, as seen on other ThinkPad P series laptops.. The laptop will be offered in several configurations with up to 8th-Gen Intel Xeon hexa-core processor coupled with NVIDIA Quadro P3200 GPU, up to 128GB DDR4 RAM and a maximum storage of 6TB.
Connectivity options and ports on the Lenovo ThinkPad P52
The laptop gets three USB 3.1 Type-A ports, two USB-C/Thunderbolt, one HDMI 2.0, one MiniDisplayPort 1.4, and SD card reader. For connectivity, you get Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, Cat 9 4G LTE (optional). Further, the laptop weighs 2.5kg and measures 377x252x25mm.
Lenovo will provide a choice of five different OS
The Lenovo ThinkPad P52 will be offered with five operating system variants, namely, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Home, Ubuntu/Red Hat Linux. Moreover, Lenovo Vantage, the company's laptop support tool, and Microsoft Office 2016 (trial version) will come pre-loaded. The laptop also gets an infrared camera for facial recognition in Windows Hello, and a 720p webcam.
