    What's the story

Vodafone India and itel Mobile have partnered to launch the entry-level 4G smartphone, itel A20, at an effective price of Rs. 1,590 in India with an exciting cashback offer.

The device is originally priced at Rs. 3,690, but Vodafone subscribers can exclusively get a cashback of Rs. 2,100, which effectively brings the price down to Rs. 1,590.

Here's how you can avail the cashback.

    Exclusive Offer

How to avail cashback on itel A20?

To avail the exclusive cashback offer, Vodafone customers need to buy the itel A20 for Rs. 3,690 and then buy recharge plans of Rs. 150 and above in every calendar month for 18 months.

After 18 months, customers would receive a cashback of Rs. 900. They can also enjoy an additional cashback of Rs. 1,200 if they continue recharging for another 18 months.

    Cashback Offer

Cashback will be transferred to M-Pesa wallets

The Vodafone recharges can be done at a time or cumulatively. This cashback scheme can be availed by Vodafone users up to 31 March 2018. They would receive the cashback in their Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.

This cashback can be used to do recharges and pay different bills. Users can also transfer (to bank accounts) or withdraw the received cashback as per their convenience.

Senior Vice-President at China-based Transsion Group's Indian arm, Gaurav Tikoo, stated: "At itel, we are committed to making the 4G smartphone experience accessible to the masses. Its (Vodafone's) superior network coverage will perfectly complement the feature-intensive A20. The partnership will drive 4G-adoption across the country."

    Features, Specs

What does the itel A20 offer?

itel A20 packs some pretty decent specs for its price. Sporting a 4-inch WVGA display, A20 has 1GB of RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory, and 1.3GHz quad-core processor for a smooth experience.

A20 features a 2MP camera on the back and 0.3MP front camera. It also houses a 1,500mAh battery.

The dual-SIM phone runs Android 7 Nougat and supports 4G VoLTE (Voice-over-LTE) and ViLTE (Video-over-LTE).

    Other Smartphones

Other telcos brought smartphone bundling offers, too

With the partnership, Vodafone India and itel Mobile aim to drive data usage growth in India.

itel A20 is similar to other entry-level phones that were launched with bundled telecom offers recently.

Airtel tied up with Intex for launching Aqua Lions N1 smartphone at an effective price of Rs. 1,649 while BSNL partnered with Micromax for Bharat 1 smartphone that costs Rs. 2,200.

    Information

    Reliance Jio's "free" feature phone

Incumbent telcos have been launching devices in partnership with smartphone manufacturers in India to compete with Reliance Jio's "smart" feature phone, the JioPhone, priced at Rs. 1,500. It is effectively a "free" phone as Rs. 1,500 is entirely refundable after three years.
