Vi, Jio, Airtel: Whose Rs. 296 plan is better
Vodafone Idea (Vi) has introduced a new prepaid plan for Indian customers at Rs. 296. The recharge bundle includes bulk data, SMS, voice calling, and 30 days of validity. Vi's prepaid plan is similar to Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio's Rs. 296 plan in terms of benefits and validity. But which one is worth getting considering other perks and freebies?
Why does this story matter?
Vi's latest recharge pack is aimed at users who want a short-term affordable prepaid plan with monthly validity and bulk data, meaning a month's worth of data at once. This new plan competes directly with Jio and Airtel prepaid packages, which cost the same. To remain relevant, Vi has been modeling its prepaid plans the same way as the other two telcos.
Rs. 296 plan by Vi provides 25GB bulk data
Vi's Rs. 296 plan comes with a validity of 30 days. It allows users to enjoy 25GB of bulk internet data, truly unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMSes per day for the entire recharge duration. This prepaid plan doesn't come bundled with Vi Hero Unlimited benefits. In fact, the only additional perks are Vi Movies and Vi TV.
Jio users can enjoy 5G connectivity for free
The Jio plan costing Rs. 296 plan offers 25GB of total data, unlimited voice calling, and 100 SMSes per day. The pack is valid for 30 days. In addition, users get free access to Jio's apps, including JioTV, JioSecurity, JioCloud, and JioCinema for the entire validity. Eligible customers can also benefit from unlimited 5G data, which is now available in 304 cities.
Airtel offers several additional perks along with customary benefits
The Rs. 296 plan from Airtel provides 30 days of validity, 25GB of bulk data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMSes per day. These are the same benefits as Vi and Jio. However, the plan also includes Airtel's exclusive perks like free access to Wynk Music, three months of Apollo 24x7 subscription, Rs. 100 cashback on FASTag, free Hellotunes, and 5G connectivity where available.
Vi v/s Jio v/s Airtel: Whose recharge pack is better?
The Rs. 296 plan from Vi, Jio, and Airtel offers similar data, SMS, and call benefits. However, Jio and Airtel's pack is more advantageous due to the added freebies. With Vi, users only receive a single additional benefit, whereas Airtel and Jio plans offer four add-ons each, along with complimentary 5G internet. The additional goodies make Jio and Airtel's plans more appealing to customers.
