Vi's esports tournament goes live, COD players can now participate
Vodafone Idea (Vi) has kicked off its first-ever grassroots esports tournament, called 'Vi Game to Fame.' But hey, this isn't the company's first rodeo in the gaming world. Vi Games, a feature in the Vi mobile app, already lets users enjoy cloud gaming on-the-go. Now, with this new esports tournament, Vi aims to amp up its brand visibility and give a boost to the esports scene in India.
'Vi Game to Fame' tournament commences today
The first edition of the 'Vi Game to Fame' tournament kicks off today, and guess what? Call of Duty is the game of choice for the competition! The grand finale is all set to happen at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024. Call of Duty Mobile is one of the most popular first-person shooting games globally, so it makes perfect sense for this high-profile event.
Registration for the tournament is now open
If you're a gamer, listen up! Registrations for the 'Vi Game to Fame' tournament are now live and will stay open until October 5. Interested? You can sign up through Vi's official website. The top six teams from the online qualifier will make it to the final round, which will be split into two groups. These groups will battle it out in a round-robin format at Asia's biggest tech fest, the IMC 2024.
Tournament format and grand prize
The tournament setup is pretty cool: the top two teams from each group will move on to the semi-finals, and they'll battle it out in a best-of-five format. The winning team will get a shot at a show match against the reigning national CODM Champions, Team Vitality. This exciting twist adds even more competition and prestige to the 'Vi Game to Fame' tournament, making it even more appealing to esports fans.
