Vivo to launch new Z-series smartphone in India: Details here
In a bid to take on rivals like Samsung and Xiaomi, Vivo is working to launch new Z-series smartphones in India soon. The line-up, expected to start with the Z5x, will include low-cost feature-rich handsets that will be sold via online channels only. To recall, Vivo Z5x was recently released in China and it offers a punch-hole design and triple rear-cameras. Here's more.
Vivo Z5x: At a glance
The Z5x comes as Vivo's first smartphone to sport a punch-hole design. Up front, it offers a near all-screen look with a tiny cut-out on the top-left corner and a sizeable bottom bezel. The rear panel, which houses a triple-lens camera and a fingerprint sensor, flaunts an in-trend gradient design. Further, the phone offers a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Vivo Z5x offers a triple-lens camera setup comprising a 16MP (f/1.78) main sensor, an 8MP (f/2.2) wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. Up front, a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper is nestled in the display cut-out.
Under the hood
The Vivo Z5x is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, paired with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage (expandable upto 256GB). Under the hood, it runs Android Pie-based FunTouch OS 9 and packs a 5,000mAh battery which supports 18W fast-charging. Lastly, the phone offers all the standard connectivity options and sensors including dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
Pricing and availability
Vivo has been releasing a bunch of teasers on its social media platforms, hinting at the imminent launch of Z5x in India. However, we don't have an official release timeline as of now. However, according to a 91Mobiles report, the phone will arrive in India under Rs. 20,000 and it will go on sale by June-end or early-July.
