Vivo Z5 with triple rear cameras, Snapdragon 712 chipset launched
As the latest addition to its portfolio of mid-range smartphones, Vivo has launched the Vivo Z5 handset in China. Available in four variants, the phone features a waterdrop notched design, triple rear cameras, in-screen fingerprint sensor, and mid-level internals. Notably, all the models except the top-end variant are up for grabs via Vivo e-store. Here's our roundup.
Vivo Z5: At a glance
Up front, the Vivo Z5 features a waterdrop notched design with an ultra-slim bezel at the bottom. On the backside, the gradient finished panel houses triple camera array and an LED flash. Further, the phone sports a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) resolution, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The Vivo Z5 gets triple rear cameras comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) main sensor, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. Up front, the phone sports a 32MP (f/2.0) motorized pop-up selfie camera. Furthermore, the rear camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while the selfie camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

The Vivo Z5 is fueled by a Snapdragon 712 octa-core chipset, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM, and upto 256GB of internal storage. Under the hood, the phone is backed by a 4,500mAh battery that comes with 22.5W fast-charging technology and supports reverse charging. Moreover, the handset runs on Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.1.
Connectivity options and sensor details
The Vivo Z5 comes with support for dual-SIMs (Nano), VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additionally, the handset gets all standard sensors including accelerometer, proximity, compass, and gyroscope.
Finally, what about pricing?
The Vivo Z5 starts at CNY 1,598 (approximately Rs. 16,000) for the entry-level 6GB/64GB model and goes upto CNY 2,298 (approximately Rs. 23,000) for the top-end model with 8GB/128GB configuration. All the models except the top-end variant are available on Vivo China's official website. Meanwhile, the top model will be up for grabs starting August 6.
