Vivo Y95 with 20MP selfie-camera to launch on November 25
As yet another addition to its portfolio of mid-range smartphones, Vivo will launch the Y95 in India on November 25. According to news agency IANS, the phone could arrive in India at a price tag of around Rs. 20,000. The Vivo Y95, which first debuted in the Philippines last week, features a waterdrop notched display, mid-level internals, and a 20MP selfie camera. Here's more.
Vivo Y95: At a glance
Up front, the Vivo Y95 features a waterdrop notched display and a fairly thick bottom bezel. On the back, the phone sports dual-rear camera and a fingerprint sensor, both housed in glass panel with dual-tone gradient finish. The Vivo Y95 has a 6.22-inch IPS HD+ (720x1520 pixels) display with 270ppi pixel density and 2.5D curved glass protection.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
In the camera department, the Vivo 95 gets a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 13-megapixel main sensor, paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and support for LED flash and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). Up front, the phone gets a 20-megapixel selfie snapper and comes with AI-based face beauty and selfie flash.
Under the hood
The phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 439 processor, paired with Adreno 505 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card. Under the hood, the Vivo 95 runs Android Oreo-based FunTouch OS 4.5 and packs a 4,030mAh battery.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard the Y95
In terms of connectivity options, the phone supports dual SIMs, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, GLONASS, and FM Radio among others. In terms of onboard sensors, the Vivo Y95 comes with an accelerometer, light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Notably, the phone also supports face unlock via the front camera.
