    What's the story

Taking on Realme C2 and Redmi 7A, Chinese tech giant Vivo has launched the Vivo Y90 smartphone in India.

The budget-range handset, priced at Rs. 6,990, sports a waterdrop notched design, HD+ display, 4,030mAh battery, and entry-level internals.

Notably, the phone is up for grabs via Amazon and all other major offline and online retail channels across the country.

    Here's our roundup.

    Design

Let's take a look at the Vivo Y90

The Vivo Y90 sports a waterdrop notched design with a thin bottom bezel offering 88.6% screen to body ratio.

On the rear, the matte-finished panel houses a single camera and an LED flash. However, it misses on the fingerprint sensor, meaning you have to rely on face unlock and password patterns for unlocking.

Further, the handset features a 6.22-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution.

    Information

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

In terms of optics, the Vivo Y90 houses a single 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The main camera supports photography features such as panorama, HDR, and autofocus. For selfies and face unlocking, the handset sports a 5MP front-facing shooter.

    Internals

    Under the hood

The Vivo Y90 is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset, paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable upto 256GB).

Under the hood, the handset runs on Android Oreo-based Funtouch OS 4.5 and packs a 4,030mAh battery.

Furthermore, it gets all standard sensors and connectivity options including support for dual-SIMs (Nano) 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB port, and headphone jack.

    Information

    Finally, what about pricing?

As for the pocket pinch, the Vivo Y90 is priced at Rs. 6,990 for the solo 2GB/16GB model. At this price point, the handset goes up against rivals such as Realme C2, Redmi 7A, and Samsung Galaxy M10.
