These Vivo Y-series smartphones have become cheaper in India
Chinese tech giant Vivo has reduced the prices of its budget-friendly Y12 and Y15 smartphones in India by Rs. 1,000. The key highlights of the phones include their waterdrop notched display, gradient design, triple rear cameras, and entry-level internals. The new prices are applicable in offline stores, but are not reflecting across online sales channels as of now. Here's our roundup.
First, a look at the new prices
With the latest price revision, the Vivo Y15 in solo 4GB/64GB configuration is now available at Rs. 11,990 (previous price: Rs. 12,990), while the entry-level 3GB/64GB model of the Y12 is currently retailing at Rs. 9,990 (previous price: Rs. 10,990). Buyers can also avail a 5% cashback on payments using HDFC and ICICI Bank cards along with no-cost EMI options.
Meanwhile, here's recalling both smartphones
As far as their specifications are concerned, they feature a familiar waterdrop notched design with a noticeable bottom bezel. On the rear, the gradient finished panel houses a vertically stacked triple camera unit and a physical fingerprint scanner. They offer a 6.35-inch LCD screen with an HD+ (720x1544 pixels) resolution. Moreover, they are available in Aqua Blue and Burgundy Red color options.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
In the camera department, both Vivo Y15 and Y12 offer a triple rear camera setup comprising a 13MP (f/2.2) main sensor, 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. For the selfie lovers, the Vivo Y15 offers a 16MP (f/2.0) front-facing snapper, while the Y12 houses a smaller 8MP (f/2.2) shooter.

Both Vivo Y12 and Y15 are powered by MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor, paired with upto 4GB RAM and upto 64GB storage. Under the hood, both models run Android Pie-based FunTouch OS 9 and pack a solid 5,000mAh battery. In addition, they offer all latest connectivity options including support for dual-SIMs (Nano), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, micro-USB port, and headphone jack.
