Vivo X60 series to feature DSLR-like 'pixel shift' technology
Vivo X60 series, which includes X60, X60 Pro, and X60 Pro+ models, will be launched in the global markets with 'pixel shift' technology, GSMArena has claimed. The technology is currently used in DSLR cameras to produce detailed images with better color accuracy. The X60 series smartphones will use its unique gimbal system to move the sensor around and capture additional details. Here's our roundup.
How will the 'pixel shift' technology work in X60 series?
Vivo will reportedly use sub-pixel rendering and the built-in gimbal system, wherein the camera sensor will be shifted around one or more axis to collect color data. The phones will click eight RAW images, select the best shot, and use data from the other seven images to correct any inaccuracies. This technology will provide better color accuracy and will also work with tripods.
Vivo X60 series offers an HDR10+ AMOLED display
The Vivo X60 series of smartphones, which is already available in China (but without 'pixel-shift' technology) features a glass-aluminium body, a punch-hole design, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The handsets sport a 6.56-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2376 pixels) AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. They come in multiple color options, including a Vegan Leather variant.
The X60 Pro+ packs a 50MP main camera
The Vivo X60 has a 48MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP portrait shooter. The X60 Pro sports a similar camera module but with an additional 8MP periscope lens. The X60 Pro+ offers a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, a 32MP telephoto shooter, and an 8MP periscope lens. For selfies, the trio has a 32MP front-facing camera.
They boot Android 11-based Origin OS 1.0
The global variants of X60 and X60 Pro will be powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset, while the X60 Pro+ will be backed by a Snapdragon 888 processor. They come with up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and boot Android 11-based Origin OS 1.0. The X60 houses a 4,300mAh battery whereas the Pro and Pro+ models pack a 4,200mAh battery.
