Vivo X60 series to come with 'Virtual RAM' technology
Vivo is gearing up to launch its X60 series of smartphones in India on March 25. The line-up includes the X60, X60 Pro, and X60 Pro+ models, which are already available in China. In the latest development, the company has revealed that the handsets will come with 'Virtual RAM' technology that will increase the RAM capacity of the devices by 3GB. Here's our roundup.
What is 'Virtual RAM' technology and how does it work?
'Virtual RAM' technology basically uses the internal storage of the device as random access memory to increase the on-board RAM capacity. This technology will help in reducing the app load time and provide faster and smoother performance. So, if you buy an X60 handset with 8GB of RAM, 'Virtual RAM' will access 3GB of internal storage to provide 11GB of total RAM (theoretically).
The X60 series boasts of a 120Hz AMOLED display
The Vivo X60 series features a glass-aluminium body, a punch-hole design, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The handsets bear a 6.56-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2376 pixels) AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. They are offered in Orange, Aurora, White, Dark Blue, and Gray color options. The Pro+ variant is said to arrive in a Blue Vegan Leather option as well.
The handsets sport a 32MP selfie snapper
Vivo X60 packs triple rear cameras, including a 48MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 13MP portrait lens. The X60 Pro offers a similar arrangement but with an additional 8MP periscope lens. The X60 Pro+ sports a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, a 32MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP periscope lens. Up front, the trio offers a 32MP selfie snapper.
They run on Android 11-based Origin OS 1.0
In India, the X60 and X60 Pro will be fueled by a Snapdragon 870 chipset and the X60 Pro+ will draw power from a Snapdragon 888 processor. They come with up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and boot Android 11-based Origin OS 1.0. The X60 packs a 4,300mAh battery whereas the Pro and Pro+ models house a 4,200mAh battery.
