Vivo releases Android 11 update for X50 smartphone in India
Vivo is reportedly rolling out the latest Android-11'>Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 update for its X50 smartphone in India. The company has not shared an official changelog but the firmware is expected to bring all the goodies of Android 11, including one-time permissions, a new conversations section, chat bubbles, media playback widget, a refreshed UI, built-in screen recording, and an updated power menu.
The firmware is currently under 'greyscale testing'
In response to a user's tweet, Funtouch OS India - Vivo's software team in India - has said that the update is currently under 'greyscale testing' and only a few customers can detect it. However, a wider release is expected to happen soon.
Recalling the Vivo X50: Design and display
As far as its specifications are concerned, the Vivo X50 features an aluminium-glass body with a punch-hole design and an in-display fingerprint reader. On the rear, it houses a quad camera unit. The handset bears a 6.56-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2376 pixels) AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It is available in Glaze Black and Frost Blue color options.
Vivo X50 has a 48MP quad rear camera unit
The Vivo X50 sports a quad rear camera module including a 48MP (f/1.6) primary sensor, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, a 13MP (f/2.5) portrait camera, and a 5MP (f/2.5) macro shooter. On the front, it packs a 32MP (f/2.5) selfie snapper.
Vivo X50 is backed by a Snapdragon 730 chipset
The Vivo X50 draws power from an octa-core Snapdragon 730 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. At the heart, it has a 4,200mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. On the connectivity front, the handset offers support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and a Type-C port.
