Vivo X23 Symphony Edition with in-display fingerprint sensor launched
As yet another variant of its mid-range X23 smartphone, Vivo has launched the Symphony Edition in China. This trimmed down variant joins the league of X23 Star Edition that was launched last month. The key highlights of the Vivo X23 Symphony Edition are its full-HD+ AMOLED display, gradient back panel, mid-level internals, and a 24.8MP selfie camera. Here's our roundup.
Vivo X23 Symphony Edition: At a glance
Up front, the phone features a 6.41-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) Super AMOLED display and a slim bottom bezel - identical to the Vivo X23. On the back, the Symphony Edition gets a 2.5D curved glass back with 3D holographic effect and gradient finish. Further, like the X23, this new variant also packs an in-display fingerprint sensor.

In the camera department, the Vivo X23 Symphony Edition offers a dual rear-camera setup with a 12MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 13MP secondary sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a 125-degree super wide-angle lens. Up front, this variant sports a 24.8MP front camera as against a 12MP selfie snapper on the Vivo X23.
Under the hood
The Vivo X23 Symphony Edition is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In comparison, the X23 offers Snapdragon 670 chipset and 8GB of RAM. The Symphony Edition runs Android Oreo-based Funtouch OS and packs a 3,400mAh battery - same as that of X23.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard the phone
In terms of connectivity options, the X23 Symphony Edition gets support for dual-SIMs, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 (with aptX), GPS, GLONASS, and OTG support. Further, the phone gets a standard set of sensors including an accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor among others.
Pricing and availability
The Vivo X23 Symphony Edition is priced at CNY 2,798 (approx. Rs. 28,900) - considerably lower than X23's price tag of CNY 3,498 (approx. Rs. 37,100). It is available for pre-orders on Vivo China e-store and will go on sale on November 23. The phone comes in two color options - Arctic Morning and Starry Night Ocean.
