    Vivo X21 UD India launch likely on May 29

    What's the story

    Vivo is planning to launch its latest mid-range smartphone in India- Vivo X21 UD on May 29.

    Vivo has sent out an invite that contains a big 'X', hinting at the unveiling of an X-series smartphone in India.

    The Vivo X21 UD, which features an under-display fingerprint sensor, was recently unveiled in China and later launched in Singapore.

    Features at a glance

    The key highlight of the phone is its under-display fingerprint scanner.

    It bears a 6.28 inch-full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) Super AMOLED notch-based display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

    Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with an Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 256GB).

    Notably, Google has released the Android P Beta update for this smartphone.

    Camera

    For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

    Vivo X21 UD sports a rear dual-camera setup with a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 aperture primary sensor and a 5-megapixel, f/2.4 aperture secondary sensor, and an LED flash.

    On the front, the phone's iPhone X-like notch houses a 12-megapixel, f/2.0 aperture camera which offers AI-based features such as IR fill light for low-light photography, 3D mapping, and Face Wake facial recognition.

    Vivo X21 UD packs a 3,200mAh battery, supports dual-band Wi-Fi

    The dual-SIM smartphone runs FunTouch OS 4.0, built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and packs a 3200mAh battery with fast charging support.

    In terms of connectivity options, you would get 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 with OTG support, and GPS.

    Its sensors include an under-display fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.

    Price and Availability

    The Vivo X21 UD will be a mid-range smartphone. The phone was priced at about Rs. 37,100 in China and approximately Rs. 39,990 in Singapore. In India, the phone will take on the upcoming Honor 10 and OnePlus 6.
