Vivo X21 to launch on May 29; pre-bookings on Flipkart
Just days ahead of becoming official in India, the Vivo X21, with an in-display fingerprint scanner is now available for pre-bookings. The mid-priced smartphone, which would launch in India on May 29, can now be pre-booked on Vivo's online store for Rs. 2,000 as advance pre-booking amount. Further, Vivo has confirmed that the Vivo X21 will go on sale via Flipkart. Here's more.

You will be required to make an advance payment of Rs. 2,000 for which the company will send a coupon to your e-mail. You can then redeem that coupon and pay the remaining amount to purchase the Vivo X21 on May 29.

The key highlight of the Vivo X21 is its under-display fingerprint scanner. The phone bears a 6.28 inch-full-HD+ (1080x2280 pixels) Super AMOLED notch-based display with 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with an Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB inbuilt storage. Notably, Google has also released the Android P Beta update for this smartphone.

In terms of optics, the Vivo X21 sports a rear dual-camera setup with a 12-megapixel, f/1.8 aperture primary sensor and a 5-megapixel, f/2.4 aperture secondary sensor, and an LED flash. On the front, the phone's iPhone X-like notch houses a 12-megapixel, f/2.0 aperture camera which offers AI-based features such as IR fill light for low-light photography, 3D mapping, and Face Wake facial recognition.
Vivo X21 packs a 3,200mAh battery, supports dual-band Wi-Fi
With support for dual-SIM, the smartphone runs FunTouch OS 4.0, built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and packs a 3,200mAh battery with fast charging. In terms of connectivity options, you will get 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 with OTG support, and GPS. Onboard sensors include an under-display fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.
Vivo X21 will take on OnePlus 6 and Honor 10
The regular variant (without in-display fingerprint sensor) is priced at CNY 2,898 (Rs. 29,900) for the 64GB variant and CNY 3,198 (Rs. 33,000) for the 128GB variant. The in-display fingerprint sensor-equipped 128GB variant, called the Vivo X21 UD in China, is priced at CNY 3,598 (Rs. 37,100). In India, the Vivo X21 will take on recently released flagship killers Honor 10 and OnePlus 6.
