Vivo to launch V21, 'India's slimmest smartphone,' on April 29

What's the story

Vivo is all set to launch its latest 5G smartphone, the V21 5G, in India on April 29, a Flipkart microsite has confirmed. The same phone will be launched in Malaysia on April 27.

Claimed to arrive as "India's slimmest smartphone," the V21 5G will feature a 7.29mm Ultra Slim Matte Glass design, extended virtual RAM technology, and a 44MP OIS selfie camera.

Design and display

It will boast of an E3 AMOLED display

The Vivo V21 5G will sport a matte glass body, a waterdrop notch design, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The handset will bear a 6.44-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) E3 AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9, 800-nits of brightness, and HDR10+ support.

It will come in Dusk Blue (7.29mm thick), Sunset Dazzle (7.39mm thick), and Arctic White (7.39mm thick) color variants.

It will sport a 64MP main camera with OIS

The Vivo V21 5G will house a triple rear camera module comprising a 64MP primary sensor with OIS support, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. The 44MP front camera will also come with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) support.

Internals

It will be backed by a Dimensity 800U chipset

The device will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor, paired with 8GB of RAM+ 3GB of extended virtual RAM. Storage configurations are not known at the moment.

It will boot Android 11-based Funtouch OS and pack a 4,000mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support.

For connectivity, the device should offer support for dual-SIMs, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 5G, and a Type-C port.

Vivo V21 5G: Pricing and availability

The official pricing details of the Vivo V21 5G in India will be announced at the April 29 launch event. However, it is tipped to be priced around Rs. 25,000. The handset will be available for purchase via Flipkart.
