Vivo V17 to be launched in India on December 9
Vivo is all set to launch a new handset in India on December 9 and the company has started sending out invites for the same. As per the invite teaser, the handset will feature a punch-hole design. Further, 91Mobiles has claimed that the upcoming phone will be a redesigned version of V17, that recently went official in Russia. Here's our roundup.
How will it look like?
The upcoming Vivo V17 will feature a punch-hole design on the front instead of the familiar U-shaped cut-out on the Russian variant. However, the rear design will likely remain unchanged with a diamond-shaped quad-camera module and gradient design. The handset is also tipped to offer a 6.38-inch AMOLED screen with a full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and an in-screen fingerprint reader.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
In the imaging department, the Vivo V17 is said to house a 48MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, paired with an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP (f/2.4) dedicated macro camera and another 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. For the selfie lovers, the handset is likely to offer a mighty 32MP (f/2.0) front-facing snapper that will also support 1080p video recording at 30fps.
Under the hood
The Vivo V17 will come with a Snapdragon 665 octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. Under the hood, the phone is likely to run Android Pie-based FunTouch OS 9.2 and house a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast-charging technology. Lastly, it should offer all the latest connectivity options such as dual-band Wi-Fi, VoLTE, Bluetooth, Type-C port, and headphone jack.
And, what about pricing?
There is no word on the India pricing of the Vivo V17 yet. However, considering that the handset costs RUB 22,990 (approximately Rs. 25,800) in Russia, we expect it to come to India at around Rs. 20,000. Once launched, it will go up against rivals like Realme XT, Redmi K20, and Samsung Galaxy A50s.
