Vivo S9 5G bags 3C certification, launch imminent
An unnamed Vivo handset with model number V2072A, believed to be the Vivo S9 5G, has appeared on China's 3C certification site. It is expected to go official on March 6. The listing has revealed that the handset will come with 33W fast-charging support. Separately, a tipster has outed the key specifications of the S9 5G, claiming it will feature a Dimensity 1100 chipset.
Vivo S9 5G: At a glance
The Vivo S9 5G will feature a wide notch display with slim bezels, an integrated fingerprint sensor, and a glass body. On the rear, it is likely to house a triple camera setup. The handset will bear a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) AMOLED screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 409ppi pixel density.

The Vivo S9 5G will pack a triple rear camera comprising a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it will sport a dual-lens unit, including a 44MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.
Under the hood
The Vivo S9 5G is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It will run on Android 11-based OriginOS and pack a 4,200mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. For connectivity, it should offer support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a Type-C port.
Pricing and availability
The official pricing details will be announced at the time of the launch, that is tipped to happen on March 6 in China. However, looking at the specifications, the smartphone should carry a price-tag of around Rs. 30,000.
