Vivo S6 5G spotted on Geekbench, key details revealed
Chinese tech giant Vivo is gearing up to launch the S6 5G smartphone in its home country on March 31. In the latest update, the handset has been spotted on the benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing key details about the hardware. Separately, the design and other key specifications of the phone were recently leaked through hands-on images and TENAA listing, respectively.
First, a bit about Geekbench and its scores
Geekbench is a cross-platform processor benchmark platform which grades processors on their single-core and multi-core performances. While calculating multi-core scores, Geekbench runs multiple streams of instructions simultaneously per core and reports an aggregate score. With single-core scores, the same process is applied but on a single core. The quicker a CPU completes the instructions, the higher is its Geekbench score.
What are Vivo S6 5G's scores?
The S6 5G is listed on Geekbench with model number Vivo V1962A. The listing, uploaded on March 25, reveals that the handset will pack an Exynos 980 processor. Notably, the smartphone has received a single-core score of 694 and a multi-core score of 1,847.
The smartphone will sport a waterdrop notched design
Going by the hands-on images, the Vivo S6 5G will sport a familiar waterdrop notched design with a noticeable bottom bezel. On the rear, the curved glass will house a circular module to accommodate quad cameras. Further, the TENAA listing suggests that the phone will sport a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen with a Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Vivo S6 5G will reportedly house a quad-lens rear camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, coupled with an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a couple of 2MP (f/2.4) lenses for macro photography and depth sensing. For selfies, video calling, and face unlock, the handset will house a respectable 32MP (f/2.4) front-facing snapper.
And, what about internal hardware?
The Geekbench listing confirms that the Vivo S6 5G would pack an Exynos 980 chipset, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Under the hood, it will run on Android 10-based FunTouch OS 10 and pack a 4,390mAh battery. The phone will also get standard connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Type-C port, and a headphone jack.
