Vivo S1 launches in India tomorrow: Everything you should know
Vivo will launch its all-new mid-range handset, the Vivo S1, in India tomorrow. So far, countless leaks have confirmed that the upcoming handset will be the international variant and not the Vivo S1 which was unveiled in China in March. As for the key highlights, the Indian variant will offer triple rear cameras, a 32MP selfie camera, and mid-level internals. Here's our roundup.
At a glance
The Vivo S1, which was launched in China some months back, features an all-screen design. However, the company is not bringing that model in India. Instead, Vivo is launching the international variant which sports a waterdrop notched design, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, triple rear cameras, and a 3D gradient design on the rear. It also offers a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED screen with full-HD+ resolution.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The upcoming Vivo S1 bears a triple-lens rear camera setup comprising a 16MP main sensor, 8MP wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfie, the phone offers a 32MP (f/2.0) front-facing camera. Moreover, the main camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps while the selfie camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.
Under the hood
The Vivo S1 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, the Indian variant is expected to come with upto 8GB RAM. The handset also packs a 4,500mAh battery and runs on Android Pie-based FuntouchOS 9. Lastly, it offers all standard sensors and connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB port, and headphone jack.
Vivo S1 expected to launch at Rs. 17,990
According to an IndiaShopps report, the Vivo S1 will cost Rs. 17,990 for the entry-level 4GB/128GB model, Rs. 19,990 for the mid-end 6GB/128GB model, and Rs. 24,990 for the top-end variant with 8GB/128GB configuration. Notably, those interested can still pre-book the phone via Vivo offline stores and partner retailers. However, official pricing and availability details will be confirmed at tomorrow's launch event itself.
