What's the story

As an addition to its Nex series, Chinese tech giant Vivo is all set to launch the Nex 3 smartphone in its home country on September 16. Notably, the key specifications of the handset including its design and hardware details were leaked recently. And now, Li Xiang, Vivo's product manager, has revealed that the Nex 3 would offer 99.6% screen-to-body ratio. Here's more.

The company had earlier posted a video on Weibo, revealing that the handset would feature an edge-to-edge 'waterfall' display with curved edges and no notches. On the rear, it will house three cameras in a circular module. Further, the smartphone is tipped to sport a 6.89-inch Super AMOLED display with a full-HD+ (1080x2256 pixels) resolution and 99.6% screen-to-body ratio.

For photography, the Vivo Nex 3 is said to house triple rear cameras comprising a 64MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, paired with 13MP secondary and tertiary sensors. Up front, the smartphone is likely to sport a 16MP selfie snapper.

The Vivo Nex 3 is expected to pack flagship Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor, paired with upto 12GB RAM and upto 512GB storage. The handset is likely to house a solid 4,500mAh battery with 44W fast-charging support. Furthermore, it should offer all standard sensors and latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Type-C port, and a headphone jack.

5G variant

There is also a 5G variant of the Nex 3

The official details of the Vivo Nex 3 will be revealed during the launch event. Meanwhile, there is also a 5G variant of the Nex 3 which will be launched alongside the standard model. And going by the reports, this variant is almost the same as standard Nex 3. However, it will get a Snapdragon X50 chipset for 5G connectivity.
