Vivo's Apex 2020 concept is a phone from the future
Vivo has finally shown off its Apex 2020 concept phone that builds upon the hole-less, port-less design of its predecessor, the Apex 2019. However, for a yearly upgrade, it does come with some groundbreaking features. It headlines a 120-degree curved edgeless display with an integrated selfie snapper, an innovative primary camera, breakthrough 60W wireless charging support, and top-of-the-line internals.
Bezels are a thing of the past
The Apex 2020 takes the hole-less, button-less, port-less design of the Apex 2019 a step further with an aggressively curved display and virtually no bezels. The 6.45-inch screen bends at an angle of up to 120-degree on both sides, giving this border-less front look. There's even no notch or punch-hole since the front camera has been integrated into the display itself.
Cameras that could take smartphone photography to the next level
The Apex 2020 has a dual-lens rear camera, including a 48MP main camera inside a gimbal-like structure and a continuous optical zoom telephoto lens. The main sensor is claimed to offer a 200% increase in image stabilization performance over traditional OIS systems while the telephoto unit offers 5x zoom to 7.5x zoom with real-time focus. For selfies, there is an under-screen 16MP camera.
Under the hood
The Vivo Apex 2020 is powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and Android-10'>Android 10 support. Under the hood, it packs a 2,000mAh battery, which supports an industry-leading 60W wireless charging. Some of the other highlights include SoundCasting technology, Voice Tracking Auto-Focus, and Instant photobomb removal feature that can eliminate passers-by from image backgrounds.
There is no price tag on the Apex 2020
Vivo hasn't shared a price tag since the Apex 2020 will not be launched anytime soon. However, as a concept device, it showcases the future of smartphone technology that we can't wait to become a reality.
