Now, there is a VR massage center for 'immersive relaxation'
Virtual reality (VR) offers a way to explore places and environments without actually visiting those places in the real world. The tech is fairly common in modern-day games and it's now being leveraged for a first-of-its-kind VR massage center. It will launch this week, giving people a way to dive into the ocean of 'immersive relaxation'. Here's all about it.
How this massage center would work exactly
Guests visiting the VR massage center will not be treated by some masseur or masseuse we normally see. Instead, they would sit on an automated massage chair, wear a virtual reality headset, and choose from 10 different VR environments. Once a location is selected, they would float off to that destination in VR while having the massage on the chair.
Esqapes Immersive Relaxation Center in LA
The futuristic massage place, dubbed Esqapes Immersive Relaxation Center, will open on July 5 for the people of Los Angeles. It will leverage the power of virtual reality and modern-day technologies to help you relax and bust all the stress and pain in the world. So, the basic function of the massage center would be the same, only the modus operandi will change.
Each session would last 30 minutes
The massage center plans to run 30-minute-long sessions, allowing the guests to explore a range of places in virtual reality. This, as Engadget reports, includes a sunset beach, a snowbank cabin, a sauna, and even a koi pond at an ocean-side resort. However, it is worth noting that the minimum age to take part in the session is 18.
No word on price yet
Though there is no word on the price of Esqapes' massage sessions, the center notes that it would be similar to enjoying a mini vacation at a fraction of the actual cost.
