An alien army? UFO hunters spot a 'tank' on moon
A mysterious tank-like object has been spotted on The Moon, which researchers say could be an odd-shaped rock. However, Cleveland-based alien and UFO research group, SecureTeam10, published a YouTube video sparking speculation the alien tank could be part of an ancient civilization. The conspiracy-theory group believes there are many artificial objects on The Moon and NASA is concealing evidence of aliens.
What is a UFO?
A UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) is a mysterious object in the sky that is not identifiable as a known phenomenon or object. UFOs are usually associated with extraterrestrial lives; they are supposed to be vehicles carrying extraterrestrials. Conspiracy theorists claim they are an evidence of alien existence. The term UFO was first used in 1953 by the United States Air Force.
CIA publishes files containing UFO sightings
In Jan'17, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) published declassified files online, offering a record of unexplained UFO incidents along with some of the agency's secret operations. It posted 930,000 documents, totaling over 12 million pages; about 1,738 items in the archive are related to UFO sightings. They also include old files of such sightings which had happened as early as 1942, 1953 and 1966.
45,000 UFO sightings recorded in 2010
A report by George Mason University's Sam Monfort revealed UFOs have been increasingly visiting and a whopping 104,947 sightings were reported over the past 100-plus years. However, sightings have dramatically spiked over the past three decades as the number of sightings jumped to 45,000 in 2010 from 5,000 in 1980. The first UFO (a buzzing sphere) flyby was recorded in Portland in 1905.
The most popular UFO sightings: Flying-saucers to unexplained lights
While there are thousands of strange sightings, some of them have been the most talked-about. They include: 1942 Los Angeles- Fighter planes attacked UFOs; 1947 Roswell- US military allegedly captured a UFO; 1976 Tehran- UFO disabled the electronic equipment of F-4 interceptor-jets; 1980 Rendlesham Forest- Unexplained lights near Royal Air Force bases; and 1989-1990 Belgium- 13,500 people spotted large, silent, low-flying black triangles.
Captain William Schaffner incident: An extraterrestrial mystery
In 1970, US Air Force pilot William Schaffner followed a UFO flying over the North Sea. He reportedly intercepted a "conical object" after which all contact with him was lost. Three months later, his plane was discovered undamaged but his body was never found.
Major UFO sightings in India
1957 Manbhum, Bihar: 800 people spotted a saucer-like UFO only 500 feet above the earth. 2007 Kolkata: A fast-moving, color-changing, fireball-like object was filmed and aired on TV. 2013: India's border patrol forces reportedly filmed mysterious lights over Ladakh. 2014 Mumbai: An amateur UFOlogist captured footage of five bright, color-changing orbs. 2015 Imphal: A massive, circular UFO was reportedly witnessed by several residents.
UFO spotted over Paris
YouTube channel SecureTeam10, known for its posts on the mysteries of the universe, aliens, and UFOs, recently published a video showing a mysterious cigar-shaped object radiating beams of light spotted near Paris. According to experts, similar objects were seen over China and Australia.
