Apple TV update rolling out: Here are all the changes
Apple has released the latest iteration of tvOS for the users of newer Apple TV digital media hubs. The update, released along with iPadOS and iOS 13.1, comes with a bunch of long-overdue improvements, including a revamped home screen, picture-in-picture mode, and multi-user support. Let's take a look at everything your Apple TV will get.
Redesigned home screen
The most notable change coming into Apple TV is the revamped new home screen. The Cupertino giant has redesigned the home screen to focus more on discovery. As such, you will now see full-screen previews of movies and shows to play them instantly as well as a dedicated control center and picture-in-picture mode to keep playing content while exploring other content.
Users can create their own profiles
Along with the redesigned home screen, the tvOS update also brings multi-user support. The capability will let you create your own separate profile to stream the content of your choice and receive relevant recommendations and a unique 'Up Next' list on the basis of it. The feature would come particularly handy when several family members are using the same device.
Apple Arcade finally supported
Another big change coming with tvOS update is Apple Arcade, the game subscription service that costs $5/month. It will let you play over 100 new and exclusive titles on your Apple TV without any charges or ads. Also, you'll be able to enjoy many of these titles by pairing Sony's DualShock 4 controllers or Microsoft's Xbox Wireless Bluetooth Controller with your Apple TV hub.
Other minor changes here and there
Further, Apple has introduced support for 'Sign in with Apple' for several apps as well as a bunch of new ocean-themed wallpaper taken with BBC. To note, some users have also witnessed changes in Apple Music - which now offers personalized playlists - and tweaked functionality of the 'TV button' of the Apple TV remote.
