Tinder introduces 'Share My Date' feature: How it works
Tinder, the popular dating app, has introduced a new feature called 'Share My Date.' This innovative tool allows users to share details of their upcoming dates, with friends and family. It not only allows them to express excitement about their future dates but also serves as a safety measure. The 'Share My Date' feature will be gradually rolled out in the coming months.
Share multiple details through a single link
The 'Share My Date' feature enables users to disseminate information about their planned dates through a single link. This link includes details such as the venue, date and time of the meeting, a snapshot of the match, as well as a link to their profile. Additionally, users can add notes to the shared page and update their date plans, ensuring recipients have access to the most recent information.
A step toward safety
Tinder's data indicates that about 51% of users below 30 already share date details with friends, while 19% do so with their mothers. The company believes it's always a good idea to inform someone about your whereabouts when you're going on a date, and provide details about the person you are meeting for safety reasons. The 'Share My Date' option could simplify this process.
Where will it be available?
Tinder's 'Share My Date' feature will be available in several countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Ireland, and France. Germany, Spain, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Netherlands, Italy, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, will also get it. This move follows a similar initiative by Tinder owner Match.com in 2020, which introduced a date check-in feature for user safety.
