Meta tests TweetDeck-inspired feed on Threads: Know how it works
Meta has begun testing a new feature on Threads that is inspired by TweetDeck's functionality. The feature allows users to create customizable feeds displayed in a column interface, similar to the format used by TweetDeck. Meta will soon start choosing Threads users to participate in testing this fresh experience, initially on the web version of Threads.
Threads's feature mirrors TweetDeck's look and functionality
A screenshot shared by Meta reveals a striking resemblance to TweetDeck. Users will have the option to set specific columns to auto-update in real-time. It also includes options to pin columns filled with search results or posts from a single user profile.
TweetDeck's evolution and influence on Threads
TweetDeck, acquired by Twitter (now X) in 2011 for $40 million, was originally a third-party app. It gained popularity due to features like multiple account support and customizable feeds. These features made it an essential tool for power users, journalists, and marketers who used Twitter daily. However, after Musk's acquisition of Twitter, TweetDeck was rebranded as X Pro and now requires an $8/month X Premium account for access.
Meta introduces chronological 'Recent' tab for searches
In addition to the TweetDeck-like interface on Threads, Meta is also introducing a chronological recent tab for searches on the service. Instagram chief Adam Mosseri stated, "Search results here are still evaluated for quality, but you can now see them in chronological order." This new feature aims to enhance user experience by providing a more organized and time-based search result display.
