Threads's new feature lets you filter offensive words and emojis
Threads is set to improve user experience with the launch of an automatic filtering feature called 'Hidden Words.' Announced by Instagram's head, Adam Mosseri, this feature will screen out potentially offensive words, phrases, or emojis from users' feeds. It will be applicable to the "Following" and "For You" sections, search results, profiles, and post responses.
Users can personalize the filtered content
Threads allows users to personalize the content that the 'Hidden Words' feature filters. Users can add specific words, phrases, or emojis they wish to hide by adjusting the settings within the app. Meta has emphasized that users have complete freedom to activate or deactivate this feature at their convenience. The new feature is now rolling out to Android and iOS users.
Threads is considering more features for the future
Threads is considering more features such as the ability to mute notifications for interactions with posts. Users can hit the bell button in the top-right corner of a post to control notifications. Another potential feature would allow users to decide who can quote their posts. Additionally, you will be able to unquote your post if you prefer not to be quoted by someone.
Archiving feature also in the works
Threads is currently testing a feature for automatic archiving of posts. This would allow users to hide old content from their profile. With a user base exceeding 150 million, these new features are expected to enhance user experience and provide greater control over content.
