Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ update brings these important features in India
When launched, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ offered dual-SIM slot but with VoLTE connectivity only on one of the slots. Many users were disappointed with this, given the top-end internals on both the flagship smartphones. However, Samsung has now started to roll out this highly-demanded feature along with other important add-ons with its latest firmware update. Here's more about the update.
Galaxy S9, S9+ get improvements in VoLTE and VoWIFI connectivity
According to the firmware changelog, there are improvements in VoLTE and VoWIFI connectivity in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The log says that both the VoLTE and VoWIFI services are now available for both SIM cards in the dual-SIM slots. Additionally, this update also brings the security patch update for May which resolves critical vulnerabilities, and support for native call recording.
How to check if your S9/S9+ have received the update?
It is an over-the-air update. But, you can manually check by going to Settings > Software Update > Download update. This latest Galaxy S9 and S9+ firmware update have the build numbers G960FXXU1BRE5 (397.26MB in size) and G965FXXU1BRE3 (426.25MB) respectively.
