Nintendo emulator Delta is on its way to iPads
The Delta emulator, a popular Nintendo emulator, has recently been introduced on the Apple App Store. Its creator, Riley Testut, has revealed that a version specifically designed for iPads is in its final stages of development, and will be launched with the next major update of Delta, version 1.6. The emulator has gained significant popularity since its launch, and remains a top-rated free app on Apple's platform.
Delta will offer support for iPad Split View
While the current iOS version of Delta is compatible with iPad and Vision Pro, Testut promises that the forthcoming native iPad version will significantly enhance user experience. It aims to fully utilize the iPad's screen for improved skins, including a unique skin that transforms your tablet into a larger Nintendo DS Lite. Additionally, Testut confirmed that this new version will support iPad Split View.
Upcoming upgrades for the emulator
Testut has plans to further upgrade the app by introducing "device-to-device multiplayer" after the launch of the iPadOS native version. Although Delta currently supports multiplayer, it is limited to single-device play. The new feature will enable users to participate in multiplayer games on their individual devices. Testut also hinted at future enhancements for the emulator, revealing that Sega Genesis emulation is currently under beta testing, and will be released soon.
