This $20 Apple Watch band also serves as AirPods case
Apple's AirPods are as much prone to losing as they are convenient. And if you seem to have a habit of misplacing them every now and then, this new AirBand might be apt for you. Currently available on Kickstarter, the AirBand is a silicon strap for the Apple Watch that has been designed to serve as a holder for your expensive Apple earbuds.
About the AirBand
Created by a US-based entrepreneur Matt Youngblood, the AirBand is a silicon strap for your Apple Watch that has "slip proof loops" to hold your AirPods. According to the Kickstarter campaign page, the band will be available in four colors: Black, White, Blue, and Beige. The band is designed to hold both the standard AirPods as well as the newly-launched Pro version.
The band has a few practical uses
There are times when fetching the AirPod case isn't convenient and holding the earbuds in your hands could be risky. So, there are a few possible places where the AirBand can come in handy, like while deboarding a crowded train, or trying to pay for something at a store, or when working when you have to put down the earbuds.
The project has a goal of $10,000
According to Youngblood, he has turned to Kickstarter to secure funding for the materials needed to begin the production. The project has a goal of $10,000, and it will remain live till April 9. At the time of writing, the campaign had received $2,159 in funding from 74 backers. To back the project, you can pledge a minimum of $20 to secure one AirBand.
The product is slated to ship sometime in April
According to the Kickstarter campaign page, the AirBand is slated to be delivered to backers sometime in April this year. Notably, the company is also providing worldwide delivery but you will be charged for shipping.
