These Xiaomi phones are getting Android Pie update
Months after the introduction of Android 9.0 Pie, Chinese giant Xiaomi has released a list of devices that will get Google's latest mobile OS. The company, according to a report in GSMArena, posted a table listing the devices that have already received an update for Android Oreo and Pie or are on track for the same. Here's the list.
Phones getting Android 9.0 Pie
According to the newly released list, Xiaomi's Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8 SE, Mi Max 3 will get Android Pie update by the end of 2018. These devices will at least get the beta version of the software, but can also receive a stable version in the coming months. Notably, Mi MIX 2S, Mi 8, and Mi 8 Explorer Edition are already on Pie.
None of the phones receiving Pie are available in India
Xiaomi's Pie update schedule is applicable to phones running the China ROM of MIUI, which means we can't be sure if MIUI Global ROM users will also get updates at the same time. None of the phones that are getting Pie are currently available in India.
Phones receiving Oreo update
In India, Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 (aka Redmi 5 Plus) has already received the Oreo update, while Redmi 5 is expected to get it pretty soon. Both devices have been included in the list of smartphones getting Oreo along with Redmi 5A and Mi 5X. Also, the list says Mi MIX and MIX 2 have got Oreo, but that's not the case in India.
