Huawei's wireless earphones can charge as you walk: Here's how
Today, charging is the biggest problem for anyone investing in wireless earphones. Your earbuds or neckbuds can run out of juice anytime, affecting an important call or a pleasant music experience. But now, thanks to Huawei, we have an ideal solution - wireless headphones that can charge from your phone, even on the go. Here's how they work.
FreeLace earphones will charge from USB-C port
Dubbed FreeLace, Huawei's new wireless earphones look like a distant relative of OnePlus' Bullets neckbuds. They feature a classy design with IPX5 certification for water and sweat resistance, but most importantly, you can disconnect them at will. Yes, that's right; one side of the earphones can be unplugged from another to expose a USB-C plug, which can go into a phone for charging.
So, you no longer have to carry a charger
With this quirky new trick, you will no longer need to carry a charger or cable to power up your dying earphones. As for supported phones, The Verge reports that the FreeLace earphones will work with any Android device that could deliver power form its USB-C port. To note, there are several smartphones, including the Pixels, that match this criterion.
What else you get with FreeLace earphones
Among other features, FreeLace earphones boast of a well-balanced design with two modules hosting volume controls and batteries on both sides. The batteries promise up to 18 hours of music playback or 12 hours of calling on a single full charge. In fact, even if you charge the buds for five minutes, they'll last for at least four more hours, which is really impressive.
Also, the buds are magnetized
It is also worth noting that the buds of FreeLace earphones are magnetized and can be clipped with one another. This way, you can simply clip/unclip them to answer/hang up a call or to play/pause music.
Plus, they work best with Huawei P30 and P30 Pro
Though FreeLace earphones would work with several USB-C phones, they have been designed to accompany Huawei's new flagships P30 and P30 Pro. They have been priced at 99 Euros (approx. Rs. 7,600) and will pair automatically with the P30 series and phones running Huawei's new EMUI 9.1 operating system. As for colors, you'll get these buds in Amber Sunrise, black, white, and Emerald Green.
