OnePlus 6T, 6 to get these India-Specific OxygenOS features soon
OnePlus had earlier announced that its Android-based mobile operating system OxygenOS would get a few India-specific features. And finally, we have details of these features that the company is working on. They will first be rolled out to the OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 via an Open Beta build of OxygenOS sometime in June. Here's all about it.
Caller Identification
The first feature that's OnePlus is adding to OxygenOS for Indian users is Caller Identification. This feature will be integrated into the dialer app to help you identify unknown callers before answering the call. Like TrueCaller, Caller Identification will recognize spam calls from businesses while also allowing you to label an unknown number as Spam, Real Estate Agent, Courier/Deliver, or others.
Smart SMS app
Smart SMS app will identify the category of an SMS and present you with meaningful information. For example, a movie ticket message will be formatted to highlight information related to the movie title, seat number etc., while a courier service message will show package arrival time and tracking options. Moreover, notifications like OTPs, transactions SMSes, etc. will be automatically grouped into separate categories.
Work-Life Balance
The Work-life Balance feature lets you strike a harmony between work and leisure timings by blocking certain apps from sending notifications during that time, say, social media apps at work or Mail or Slack during home hours. The feature allows you to create a preset wherein you can select the apps, connectivity, and timing for each group as well as monitor your daily usage.
OnePlus Roaming and Cricket Scores
OnePlus Roaming provides global internet access and calling services. The feature will show affordable data packs for a foreign destination or multiple locations you are traveling to. It will show up as an option under 'Wi-Fi & Internet' sub-menu of the Settings app. Lastly, there's Cricket Scores feature, powered by ESPNcricinfo, will be integrated into the Shelf to offer cricket match scores in real-time.
