$1.8 million Harley-Davidson Blue Edition is world's most expensive motorcycle
The Harley-Davidson Bucherer Blue Edition is the most expensive motorcycle in the world at $1.8 million (Rs. 12 crore). It was jointly designed and built by Swiss watch and jewelry maker Bucherer and Swiss custom Harley-Davidson workshop Bündnerbike. It was initially Harley-Davidson's stock Softail Slim S before getting turned into the ultra-rare Bucherer Blue Edition.
It'll give you exclusive bragging rights
Every metal element on the motorcycle has been produced, welded, beaten, and polished by hand. In fact, its cowhide saddle of a seat was sewn by hand in Switzerland. The motorcycle features a custom frame and rims and heat-resistant LED lights. Its blue color was formed by first silver-plating the entire vehicle and then applying six layers of color using a secret coating method.
But here's what makes it truly expensive
The motorcycle sports 360 diamonds and several gold-plated screws and throttle valves. It has two retractable safes integrated into the tank, underneath an armored glass dome. One contains a custom-made watch and another a Heaven solitaire ring with a 5.4-carat diamond. The watch is placed in an elaborate holder made from silicon rings so that vibrations from the engine don't damage its mechanical movement.
The motocycle might never be ridden on public roads
The hand grips on the motorcycle have Bucherer's Dizzler rotating ring mounted on them. Another pair of Dizzler diamond rings can be found on the forks. Notably, so far the highest amount paid for a motorcycle has been $929,000 (Rs. 6 crore) for a 1951 Vincent Black Lightning which was auctioned earlier this year.
